FAQs

What does gold filled mean?

Gold filled is an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal.  Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating.  Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant.  It does not flake off, rub off or turn colors.  As a matter of fact, anyone who can wear gold can wear gold filled without worries of any allergic reaction to the jewelry.  Gold filled jewelry is an economical alternative to solid gold!

Keep in mind that your pieces will fade with time and extended wear—this is totally normal and should not be considered  be a defect.

How do I care for gold filled jewelry?

Caring for Gold Filled items is as easy as caring for any gold jewelry. Simply keep away from chemicals, clean regularly with mildly sudsy water, rinse well and pat dry with a non-scratching cloth. Polish gently with a jewelry polishing cloth.

  • Jewelry is delicate and we do not recommend our pieces be worn during sports activities, sleeping or when you’re sweating excessively.
  • We recommend applying lotion, cosmetics, perfumes, sunscreens etc on before putting on putting jewelry, as the chemicals can compromise the jewelry.
  • Do not bathe in your jewelry or submerge in water (ie: washing dishes etc).
  • Remove your jewelry before cleaning it.
  • Do not used household cleaning products to clean your jewelry— the products often contain harsh chemicals which may strip the finish.
  • Wearing your jewelry in the pool or to the peach beach may cause discoloration to due to the chlorine or salt.
  • Store your jewelry properly when it’s not being worn.
